The Fastest, Tallest, and Largest: Pools, Slides, and Dives!

If you ever reach a point where using a pool to cool off and relax in the sun isn’t enough, here’s a few ideas for how you can add some excitement to your summertime pool days.

For most of us, though, simply hearing about these thrilling attractions is enough to scratch our itch for excitement.

Tallest Slide

Need to get in the pool quickly but don’t want to get caught by the lifeguard for breaking the “No running in the pool area” rule?

Well, you can also take a trip down to Aldeia das Aguas Park Resort in Brazil, where the world’s tallest slide can zoom you into the water at top speed.

At nearly 50 meters tall, speeds of up to 57mph have been recorded by those brave enough to fly, I mean “slide”, down. (Don’t forget to plug your nose!)

Built in 2002, the Kilimanjaro is one of the wildest water rides in the country and one of the world's major slides and maioir the planet. With the impressiv...

As you can imagine, the taller the slide, the more potential maintenance issues that would need to be identified and submitted.

Good thing there’s an easy-to-use app that provides digital slide inspections, SMS/email alerts, and digital backups. (DigiQuatics “Slide Inspections”)

Highest dive from a diving board

Have you ever been on the 17th floor of a building, looked out the window and thought, “I wonder what it would be like to jump into a pool of water from here?”

While you almost certainly answered “no” to that question, Lazaro "Laso" Schaller chose to do exactly that in 2015 in Maggia, Ticino, Switzerland where he earned the record for highest dive from a diving board.

“Laso” jumped from 58.8 meters (192 ft 10 in) down to the base of a waterfall, achieving a top speed of 123 kph (77 mph) before hitting the water feet first. See it for yourself in the video below!

This happens when a little child like me finds a waterfall...and thinking about...is it jumpable?! Goal achieved!!

Should any of your swimmers perform an amazing or memorable dive at your facility, DigiQuatics gives you an easy way to record it in the Shift Reports module.

Largest Swimming Pool

If you are someone who enjoys a lot of open space as you swim around in a pool, then maybe the world’s largest swimming pool is for you.

Located in Algarrobo, Chile, the San Alfonso del Ma is a private resort that features a pool spanning 871,200 square feet!

How long would it take you to swim from one end to the other? That depends on how fast you can swim 1,016 meters.

And just how many lifeguards would you need to staff a pool of this size? Each aquatics facility will have their own formula/ratio requirements but can you imagine how time consuming creating staff schedules would be?

Good thing there’s a simple digital app for all of that (DigiQuatics “Staff Scheduling”).
