Pool Filter Basket Constantly Plugged

QUESTION:

“We are constantly dealing with cotton fibers plugging up our filter basket. Has anyone figure out a way to prevent/manage this?”

Answer 1:

We have multiple signs around the pool deck that inform patrons on their way in that cotton is not allowed in our pool at all. We also have our cashiers ask patrons that are wearing basketball/cotton shorts before they enter if they have swim shorts. Our lifeguards also know to ask about shirt materials and shorts.

Yes it is from the shirt and shorts. You need a no cotton policy. For now it is great the backer catches it, as you do not want it in your filters.

Must have a bathing suit only. Men's suits must have built in liner. No compression shorts or sports bras. Bathing suits designed for.....swimming. Not baseball. Not basketball. It sucks enforcing but has helped A TON!!!
